REPUBLIC OF TRUTH DECLARED

Soweto came to a standstill yesterday as the newly elected President, Thomas Minyola, declared the formation of the Republic of Truth, with Soweto as its capital.

Although some politicians and citizens have been calling for the renaming of the city it was the opinion of the President and the ruling party that the apartheid-era name, derived from South West Township, should be retained as a reminder of the indignities Africans faced under centuries of white suppression.

The Cultural committee felt that: ‘Soweto’s unique status as the world’s only functioning city makes it more essential than ever that we remind ourselves of the long road that got us here. The white man has destroyed his world, and many others, but he could not destroy Soweto.’

Soweto’s territories will be officially known as the Republic of Truth because, the President says, the truth is that the black people are the master race who gave birth to civilization in African valleys millions of years ago. Truth that the people who for so long denied their African ancestry have returned to her begging for food and water. This is after destroying the natural environment of the lands our distant ancestors colonised. The President says the question of the African origin of the white refugees is now irrelevant, made irrelevant by them, not by Africans. Some estimates say that as many as 75% of the surviving Caucasian population of Europe and America are within a day’s walking distance of the Republic’s borders.

The president also said it would be impossible for the Republic to give them all refugee status. Since most of the Republic territory is well above sea level and suffering less from climate change it was inevitable that whites would head here, particularly so given their historical attempts to dominate Southern African territories.

Many are reported to be living in primitive conditions in wilderness areas. Poaching is widespread and several government scientists have reported unchecked tribal violence and escalating chaos.

President Minyola addressed a vast crowd of applauding supporters, warning them of the threats the Republic will face:
“They, the whites, are coming. They will try to take our land. They will try this because their ancestors managed it before. They took us, too. Our ancestors were enslaved and exported like tinned fruit. Only tins of fruit are treated with greater respect. They called our land the Dark Continent and then brought us disease and war upon war. They caused trouble and fanned little disputes into flaming battles between black brothers. They will try this again. Only it will be worse. They are fighting for their very survival. They have destroyed their own environment. But they will never destroy Soweto. That is the truth. The black people of our continent gave birth to civilization in the valleys of the North millions of years ago. We are the master race. They owe us everything but they wish to deny it. Now all those white people Africa spawned threaten to overrun us. They are trying to return, begging for forgiveness but we must not be swayed by sentimentality. The white man is naturally destructive. His history is all about what they call exploration and we know is exploitation. Everywhere the white man goes the indigenous people are subjugated at best. Often they are annihilated in battles or genocidally removed. In Soweto we are especially vulnerable. Our paradise is threatened by groups of whites escaping starvation, civil war and chaos in the lands they have destroyed.  For so long we were persecuted by the so called white Africans who settled here. We must be alert. We long to live in peace but we must be ready to wage war to defend ourselves. They didn’t want to be African then. They cannot be African now. They want Africa to be the White Continent. We must resist. That is the truth.”

The President was cheered loudly as walked among the ecstatic crowds, who chanted his name and greeted him with banners.
